According to The Chosun Daily, the group’s eight members (Yi Chan, D1, GK, Heechan, Run, Junseo, Yuku and Harry June) shared details about their daily lives in a video released March 10 on the YouTube channel Human Story.
"Honestly, income is a sensitive issue for us," the members said in the video. "If we were trying to make money, I don’t think we could have chosen this job. If you’re someone who chases money, you absolutely shouldn’t do this job."
When asked whether they had reached the break-even point, the group said they had not, according to Allkpop.
The members explained that the costs of maintaining idol activities such as mixing, styling and album production can be extremely high. They estimated that in order to make a profit, revenue must be roughly double their current earnings.
The group also described living frugally in their dormitory to cut costs, often reducing food expenses while focusing on training and performances. Members are also directly involved in choreography and music production.
They emphasized their appreciation for fans, saying the support of their fan club has been a major source of motivation, helping them keep going despite challenges.
The group also shared a message for young people pursuing their dreams.
"Never give up," they said.
DKB debuted under Brave Entertainment, a label founded by rapper and producer Brave Brothers.
