In the early hours of April 30, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal to help Al Nassr defeat Al Ahli 2-0 in round 30 of the Saudi Pro League. The focal match between Al Nassr and Al Ahli at Al-Awwal Park ended with the sweetest possible scenario for the home team. Currently, Al Nassr has 79 points, 8 points ahead of Al Hilal but having played one more match. Given the current situation, Ronaldo and his teammates need to defeat Al Qadsiah and Al Shabab in the next two rounds and could be crowned on May 13 if they secure points against Al Hilal.
Against Al Ahli, despite dominating possession, Al Nassr had some heart-stopping moments in the first half. Al Ahli showed that they were not easily subdued.
In the 13th minute, goalkeeper Pinto Matheus had to pull off a spectacular save following a header by Merih Demiral. Just two minutes later, the pressure continued to mount as Galeano's shot narrowly missed the post.
The drama peaked at the beginning of the second half. In the 46th minute, Riyad Mahrez found the back of Al Nassr's net, but VAR denied the goal, much to the regret of the away team.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 76th minute. From an accurate corner kick by Joao Felix, Cristiano Ronaldo chose a smart position and leapt high to deliver a tricky header that left Edouard Mendy helpless. This was the 970th goal of CR7's career, making the entire stadium erupt.
