In the summer of 2026, Lacoste officially launched a comprehensive overhaul of its brand identity system. Eschewing radical alteration, the French label is instead focusing on standardizing its core values to cement its status as a heritage "Maison" for a new era.

Lacoste's new brand identity

Logotype: Boldness Through Differentiation

Amidst an industry-wide shift toward minimalist, sans-serif typography, Lacoste is charting a contrarian course by reclaiming the serif typeface. This custom-crafted font, drawing inspiration from the brand's archival designs, serves to convey both confidence and historical depth.

Alongside this typographical shift, the iconic Crocodile mascot has been restored to center stage, meticulously rendered to reflect Robert George’s original 1933 sketch. The accentuated red tongue is highlighted not merely to boost brand recognition, but to symbolize a spirit of freedom and enduring vitality.

Standardizing the Heritage Palette

Lacoste’s revamped color system is grounded in the logic and legacy of its sporting heritage:

  • Lacoste Green: Recalibrated to its authentic original hue, reflecting the brand's signature strength and energy.

  • "Farine": A classic ivory shade inspired by the premier blazer worn by the legendary René Lacoste.

  • Clay: A visual homage to the distinctive clay tennis courts, intimately tied to the founder’s illustrious competitive career.

Strategic Vision

This evolution is not simply a visual update; it signifies a mature strategic pivot in how the brand positions itself. Rather than pursuing ephemeral trends, Lacoste is concentrating on optimizing its intrinsic values, transforming nearly a century of heritage into a core competitive advantage. This standardization reaffirms a fundamental truth within the premium sector: true prestige stems not from constant reinvention, but from the fortitude to maintain and cultivate one's unique identity.

About Lacoste: Founded in 1933 by René Lacoste, the brand established the global standard for "Sport-chic" elegance. The new 2026 identity system marks a pivotal step in the company's roadmap for sustainable global development.
